Assignment Help:

Explain in brief the functions of the clock generator chip, 8284.

8284 Clock generator:

The 8284 is an ancillary element to the microprocessors. Without any clock generator, several additional circuits are needed to generate the clock in a microprocessor based system. An 8284 gives the following basic functions or signals: RESET synchronization, Clock generation, READY synchronization and a TTL-level peripheral clock signal.
