Explain how the training and education of work force differ from that of the middle level managers.
The training and education of work force differ from that of the middle level managers in content and method.
(a) Work Force: in this level the employees are to be familiarised along with the organisation, along with the job and are specified mostly skill training.
The methods are:
(i) Induction and Orientation Training that aims to get over the problems in the period as rapidly as possible and along with minimum emotional upsets.
(ii) Training by experienced, skilled and old worker to whom the new worker is attached. The new employee watches the experienced worker whereas he works and after that tries to do the same manner.
(iii) On the Job Training when the supervisor explains and demonstrates the job and the new employee tries at out himself.
(iv) Apprentice Training that has an academic side, using practical one that is a trainee attends certain courses, with receives practical training.
(b) Middle Level Managers: This level managers need education and training on HRM, Self Development and Decision Making.
The methods used are:
i. Under study in which the managers learn the methods of his superior.
ii. Positional rotation that broadens the managers 'background in other areas.
iii. Assignment to particular projects which is a useful and flexible training device.
iv. Committee Assignments that help inter-personal interaction and team-ship.
v. Attending Special Courses conducted at Training Institution to improve knowledge.
vi. Role playing in which the trainee is specified a strategic position to play in an artificially created conflict situation.
vii. Sensitivity Training that develops the managers' sensitivity and awareness to behavioural pattern of one self and other people.
viii. Simulation whether the trainees are asked to make decision regarding production, cost, inventories and sales in a simulated firm and situation.
