Human eye also requires similar components for growth for its generation of energy and its tissue growth. Various biochemical reactions take place in the eye, so as to provide energy, perform regular maintenance and repair of the structure of the eye and perform the routine functions pertaining to vision. In this process, metabolic by-products and waste material is also produced, which if accumulates may be toxic to the normal ocular tissue.
