Highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) -

The treatment of HIV infection requires combination therapy known as highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) along with interval monitoring of the patient's HIV RNA levels ("viral load") and CD4 cell count. Increases in viral load or decreases in CD4 count may show development of drug resistance and the need for susceptibility testing and a change in treatment regimen. The dosage and cost of drugs for HIV infection
