Explain Fluid Mechanics or Properties – Viscosity

A measure of a fluid's resistance to flow when acted upon by an external force such as pressure or gravity. Also termed, "Absolute Viscosity". Heavy oils, syrups and jellies are more iscous than water.

Increasing a fluid's temperature will decrease the fluid's viscosity.

Greek symbol: μ  mu

Units: lb-sec/ft2
