Explain Flucytosine

Flucytosine (Ancobon) - Potentially lethal, dose-related bone mar- row toxicity, colitis and rapid development of resistance when used alone limit the use of flucytosine. Keeping serum concentrations below 100 mcg/mL (some clinicians recommend staying below 50 mcg/mL) decreases toxicity, but delays in getting assay results often limit their utility.
