Essay method: in the essay method, the ratter must describe the employee within a number of broad categories such as:
a. The ratter's overall impression of the employee's performance.
b. The promo ability of the employee.
c. The jobs that the employee is now able or qualified to perform.
d. The strength and weaknesses of the employee and the training and the development assistance required by the employee.
