Explain Domain calculus
Domain calculus is one of the types of the relational calculus. The formal specification of the domain calculus was planned after the development of the QBE system. Domain calculus has the variables range in excess of single value from domains of attributes. To create a relation degree n for a query result, we should have n domain variables - one for each attribute. An expression of the domain calculus is of the form {X | F(X)}
In which F is a formula on X and X denotes a set of domain variables. The expression characterizes X like F(X) is true.
Write a query to define tables students and teachers as sub tables of people? Create table students of student under people Create table teachers of teacher under people
Super keys of a relation can have extra attributes. Candidate keys are minimal super key, i.e. such a key have no extraneous attribute. An attribute is known as extraneous if even
What are composite objects? Objects that have other objects are known as complex objects or composite objects.
What are the benefits of prepared statements and place holders? Parameter binding operations automatically handle escaping of characters Encourage Statement reuse
Design a database for an airline.The database must keep track of customers and their reservations,flights and their status, seat assignment on individual flights and, the schedule
What is multiple relationship ?
Consider the following relational scheme: R (a,b,c,d,e,f) and its corresponding set of FDs {d→ a, be → c, ac → e, b → f, f → d, a → c}. a. Is the following decomposition i) non
Using the concepts defined previous, we have identified that strong entities in COLLEGE database are FACULTY, STUDENT, COURSE and DEPARTMENT. This database also has one weak entity
Gaps in sequence values can happen when: - A rollback happens that is when a statement changes are not accepted. - When the system crashes - When a sequence i
Suppose R is a relation with attributes A1, A2,..., An. As a function of n, tell how many superkeys R has, if: 1.1 The only key is A1. 1.2 The only key is A1 and A2. 1.3 The o
