Disk Cartridges: Removable disk cartridges are an option to hard disk units as a form of secondary storage. Cartridge generally comprises one or two platters covered in a hard plastic case which is inserted in the disk drive much like a music tape cassette. Capacity of these cartridges varies from 5MB to more than 60MB to some extent lower than hard disk units however still considerably superior to diskettes. They are handy since they give microcomputer users access to amounts of data limited only by number of cartridges used.
