In the dental care delivery system: there are: patients, insurance payers and dentists

For patients:

Success = function + esthetics (? Survival)

Patients are usually satisfied if their teeth are functional and esthetically pleasing.

For insurance companies 

Success= access to care + quality + coast

Insurance companies measure success by access to care, quality of care, and cost, as well as the survival rate of treatment.

For dentist   

Success = elimination of disease (measured clinically and radiographically) + fair compensations
