Explain Cough reflex Actions - Respiratory Process
Cough reflex causes cough due to irritation of some receptors in tracheo-bronchial tree. It is a protective reflex. The irritation may occur in the vagal sensory nerve endings of the larynx, trachea etc. Chemically induced coughing occurs due to inhalation of gas.
