Explain Adverse effects of Stavudine

Fatal lactic acidosis may happen more frequently with stavudine than with other NRTIs. Serum aminotransferase activity may enhance with stavudine treatment, and pancreatitis has occurred rarely. Stavudine commonly causes dose-related peripheral sensory neuropathy, which often disappears when the drug is stopped and may not recur when it is restarted at a lower dose. Stavudine is associated with risk of lipoatrophy and enhanced serum lipids, and has been associated with the development of diabetes
