Explain Adverse effects of Atazanavir
Atazanavir causes indirect hyperbilirubinemia. It has had no adverse effects on lipid profiles, but the drug's long-term effects are unknown. It can cause PR prolongation and should be used with caution in patients with cardiac conduction abnormalities. Co-administration with tenofovir or efavirenz reduces serum levels of atazanavir; this may be overcome by addition of low-dose ritonavir. Atazanavir should not be used in combination with indinavir, which also can cause hyperbilirubinemia
