Explain about pyrometallurgy, Chemistry

Assignment Help:

Q. Explain about Pyrometallurgy?

Tri pyrometallurgy, the concentrated ore is heated up to a high temperature and reduction is done with a appropriate reducing agent. The different, steps involved in pyrometallurgy are calcinations, smelting and roasting. The concentrated ore is convened into the metal oxide, roasting and calcinations, if it does not already exist as an oxide. This is due to other metal compounds like sulphides, carbonates; sulphates, etc. are difficult to reduce. In the end, the metal oxide is reduced to metal by smelting.
