Q. Explain about Pyrometallurgy?
Tri pyrometallurgy, the concentrated ore is heated up to a high temperature and reduction is done with a appropriate reducing agent. The different, steps involved in pyrometallurgy are calcinations, smelting and roasting. The concentrated ore is convened into the metal oxide, roasting and calcinations, if it does not already exist as an oxide. This is due to other metal compounds like sulphides, carbonates; sulphates, etc. are difficult to reduce. In the end, the metal oxide is reduced to metal by smelting.
When heated calcium hydroxide as well as ammonium chloride reacts to produce water vapor ammonia gas and solid calcium chloride. Presume 5.00g of calcium hydroxide as well as 10.00
As already discussed, the reduction of the metallic oxide usually heating it with some reducing agent such as carbon, carbon monoxide, hydrogen or some other metal. The reducing ag
