Q. Explain about PARAM Super computer?
PARAM is a high-performance, industry standard and scalable computer. It has developed from concepts of distributes scalable computers maintaining massive parallel processing in cluster of network of computers. The PARAM's major benefits are its Scalability. PARAM can be assembled to perform Tera-floating point operations for each second. It is a cost effective computer. It provides support for some application software. PARAM is made employing standard available components. It provides support for Solaris Operating System and Sun's Ultra SPARC series servers. It is based on standard protocols and open environments. It can execute any standard application which is available on Sun Solaris System.
Some of applications which have been designed to run in parallel computational mode on PARAM comprise seismic data processing, Molecular modeling, numerical weather forecasting, quantum chemistry, finite element analysis. It also supports several languages and Software Development platforms like:
FORTRAN 77, FORTRAN 90, C and C++ language compilers, and tools for parallel program debugging, Solaris 2.5.1 Operating system on I/O and Server nodes, Visualization and parallel libraries, Data warehousing tools, Distributed Computing Environment etc.
Q) a.Define the programming-language features that are required to properly support concurrent programming? b. What support do these features need from the operating system?

State the data flow diagramming conpects The approach to data flow diagramming is as follows: Create a data flow diagram for each of major outputs of system Work ba
State the SELECTIVE CLEAR - logic micro operations The selective-clear operation clears to 0 bits in register A only where there are corresponding 1's in the register B. For
Yes, it can be used, if an accurate clock frequency is not needed. Also, the component cost is low contrast to LC or Crystal.
Virtual Memory is a way of extending a computer's memory by using a disk file to replicate add'l memory space. The OS remain track of these add'l memory addresses on the hard disk
Difference among the Static rams and dynamic rams. Static RAM: It is costly as each bit of memory will take around 6 CMOS transistors. More speedy as transistors are us
Define File record length ? File record length must be selected to match the data characteristics.
Show that a positive logic NAND gate is equivalent to negative logic NOR gate. Ans: Positive logic denotes True or 1 with a high voltage and False or 0 with a low volt
Suppose there are 2 copies of resource A, 3 copies of resource B, and 3 copies of resource C. Suppose further that process 1 holds one unit of resources B and C and is waiting for
