Interlacing is a procedure in which in place of scanning the image one-line-at-a-time it's scanned alternatelyit implies thatalternate lines are scanned at each pass. This achieves a doubling of the frame rate with same amount of signal input. Interlacing is used to maintain bandwidth (amount of signal) down. Currently, only 8514/A display adapters use interlacing.
