Have to emulsified asphalts or cutback asphalts be selected as staple coat in bituminous road works?


Answer

Emulsified asphalt is a postponement of asphalt in water by using an emulsifying agent that imposes an electric charges on asphalt particles therefore they will be join and cement together. On other hand, cutback asphalt is purely asphalt dissolved in petroleum. Purpose of addition emulsifying agent in water or petroleum is to decrease viscosity of asphalt in low down temperatures.
