Elements of a strategic design

The elements of strategic design are:

Vision: This is the big picture of where the organisation wants to be in the future. This may include goals to be achieved in terms of size, revenue, structure, clients, and other driving elements for business.

Mission (or Purpose): This is a declaration of the reason for an organisation's existence. . The spotlight is mainly on the product or service that is rendered.

Objectives: An objective is a declaration of a subset of the mission and gives superior insight as to the components of the mission

Goals: A goal is a measurable achievement that indicates performance of an activity or producing something. Goals are always specific in terms of that can be objective measures of performance

Process strategies: A process strategy is "how" something will be accomplished and indicates the source by which end-purposes are attained. Strategies are developed and implemented at the organisational point as well as for projects, programs, and other work elements.

Programs: Programs are official group of activities that lead to one or more products over a period of time. Programs, such as an R&D program, may be in progress for several years and deliver many products over the life of the program. A subsequent kind of program is when projects are initiated under one roof to design, develop, and deliver a string of products that lead to one end  product.  An  example  is  an  airplane  that  has  multiple  projects operational on different aspects of the product, such as airframe, engines, wings, landing gear, electronics, and other components.

Projects: A project is an anthology of resource-consuming actions that are planned, implemented and controlled in such a way to generate change to desired output.

Organisational policies and procedures: Policies and procedures direct the organisation in what will be done and how it will be done.

Organisational design: Organisational design is the structuring of the organisation to the most excellent to fulfil the responsibilities for meeting the vision, mission, and strategies.
