DV Encoder Types: While DV is captured in a computer this is stored in an AVI file, that is Microsoft's standard file format used for video files. Video support in Windows is provided through DirectShow, a high performance 32 bit interface.

Digital video can be saved in two formats, DV Encoder Type 1 and DV Encoder Type 2.
