Drainage of Embankment Slopes:

Slopes of high embankments get eroded by rain water. Deep rain cuts are formed, which endanger the pavement. In such cases, it is customary to provide flumed drains, by which the water is collected at regular intervals, and led to lined flumes along the slopes. Figure gives the arrangement.
