Q. Do you mean by Accelerated Aging?

Accelerated ageing tests are conducted at elevated temperature of 100o C to know the variation in hardness, UTS and elongation at break.  The research showed that the size of sample was very important in establishing the significance of aging.  Current test methods use very thin specimen and the results generally show significant changes due to aging. The actual bearing, however, is not a thin specimen and effect of aging is not so pronounced. It was found that it would take hundreds of years of service to change the bearing stiffness by 10%. Given that the correlation between the test and the real situation is not known, it seems that the test is just a quality control test, not a performance test.
