Discuss how society uses mbc, Marketing Management

Assignment Help:

About 40 years ago, media guru Marshall McLuhan assume that mass communication would turn the world into a global village. Communication satellites, 24-hour global news channels, the Internet, and networks such as MTV have indeed made national borders blurry. In the case of Mauritius, the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation left no stone unturned to keep up with this global trend.

(a) From the micro- analytical perspective , describe any three functions performed by the MBC towards the society

(b) Using the ‘wide-angle‘ lens approach, discuss how society uses MBC

(c) Mauritians, as media consumers, are dependent on what is being broadcasted by MBC to take cognizance of emerging news. However, this over-dependency causes certain dysfunctions towards the society. Using the macro-analytical approach, explain any two dysfunctions that might negatively affect media consumers.
