discontinuation of job, HR Management

Respected sir
I am writing this letter to my friend.He has been working in an organization, and in probation . Due to some emergency reasons he had to go to his country. company allowed him a 4 days leave but he required 6 more days, and he well informed it to the company and requested for a 6 more days leave extension, 2 days later company send a non continuation letter. After 9 days he came back and requested to join. But company says wait for a few days to give him the answer. kindly explain is there any hope for him . give your valuable reply.
