Direction of Acceleration and Velocity

Knowing the size of a distance or speed is frequently meaningful for creating comparisons. For example, for some reasons it may be enough to know which Inverness is further from London than it is from Birmingham. Therefore, in several everyday situations it is not sufficient to know the speed or distance.
