What is the difference between carriers of HIV and AIDS patients?

A person can be a carrier of the HIV without necessarily being affected by the immunodeficiency syndrome at that time as the virus can remain in the body for a lot of years without producing clinical manifestations. The AIDS condition is characterized when the patient in fact becomes immunodeficient and starts to show signs and symptoms of opportunistic diseases.
