Section - Mobile Data Collection System
Using the Microsoft Mobile .Net Framework or .Net Compact Framework and ASP.NET web technology develop a mobile data collection system for any application situation of your choice. The objective of the system is to give a mechanism to retrieve data which is initially stored in a web server. The information or data retrieve from the web server will then be processed and/or shown. The mobile data collection system will mainly consist of two components:
- A device application to act as the data consumer
- A web application to act as the data provider
The device application involves building and designing the application that will run on the hand held device to collect the real data. A suitable user interface should be designed, tested and implement. It is important when designing this part to think how it will work as part of the overall system. Careful consideration should be provided to the way in which data is held and persisted.
The web application involves completing the application by developing the web components of the system and the communications between the mobile device and the web application during shared data source.
The second part must be supported with an appropriate design, typically using UML type notation and suitable accompanying documentation. The design should be succinct but in sufficient detail to describe how the system works.
