Determine the Significance of gearing on shareholders

Significance of gearing on shareholders is financial risk for anun-geared and geared company. It means that there is a greater volatility in returns for shareholders. Highly geared companies have higher proportion of their profits being used for preference dividends andobligatory interest payments. This leaves fewer profits for distribution to shareholders
