Determine the role of microflora in the soil

The microflora in the soil play an important  role in the decomposition of dead plants and animal and the recycling of nutrient. Liming of acid soil increases the activity of bacteria and actinomycetes and lower fungal population.  Crop rotation i.e.,  changing the crops disturbs such unfavourable popul ation balances. However, crop rotation and monoculture both have advantages and disadvantages associated with them.
