Determine the reaction - cantilever, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:

Determine the reaction:

The cantilever is shown in the figure given below; determine the reaction when it is loaded.

In cantilever at fixed end (A) there is three reaction that is, RAH, MA, RAV First draw free body diagram of the beam as shown in given figure, As beam is in equilibrium, that is,

∑H = 0;

RAH = 0

RAH = 0                                                                 .......ANS

∑V = 0;

RAV  -32 - 20 -12 - 10 = 0

RAV = 74KN                                                        .......ANS

Taking moment about A,

- MA + 32 × 1 + 20 × 2 + 12 × 3 + 10 × 4 = 0

∑MA = 148KN-m                                            .......ANS

Therefore reaction at support A that is RVA  = 74KN, RHA  = 0KN, MA  = 148KN-m
