Our urinary system consists of following:
Two kidneys
Two ureters
One urinary bladder
One urethra
Apart from excretion of waste products, kidney regulates water and electrolyte balance, acidity and alkalinity of body fluid, regulate blood pressure. Nephrons are the functional unit of kidney. Urine produced by nephrons goes through collecting duct, to reach ureter. Ureter carries urine to urinary bladder where it is stored until emptied. Urine is voided from urinary bladder during micturition through a duct called urethra which has opening at the end of penis in male and into the valve opening in females. The act of urination is micturition
