Determine the node voltage by using KCL:
Determine the node voltage V and then current flowing through each element by using KCL.
Solution
Apply KCL at the node whose voltage is V.
Algebraic summation of all the current meeting at node is zero.
(V - 10) /I+ V/I + V /4 = 0
V [1 + 1 +(1/4)] = 10
2.25 V = 10
V = 4.44 volt.
Now we have to determine current through each element.
I1 = 10 - V / 1 = 10 - 4.44 = 5.56 Amp
I1 = V/1 = 4.44 Amp
I2 =V/4 = 1.11 Amp .
