Determine the equivalent evaporation, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:

Illustrate how the efficiency of Rankine Cycle can be improved by the use of Regenerative and Reheat heating.

(b) During a test on boiler trial the following data were obtained :

Pressure of steam = 9 bar, Quality of steam = 0.97 dny, Quantity of stream = 5600 Kg/hr, Temperature of feed water = 36OC , coal consumption = 700 Kg/hr, C.V. of coal = 31380 KJ/Kg of fuel.

Determine the equivalent evaporation and efficiency of the boiler. If an economiser is put for feed water at 100OC what will be effect on efficiency of boiler ?
