Determine the coefficient of maximum static friction, Physics

Assignment Help:

Dalila decides to determine the coefficient of maximum static friction for wood against wood by conducting an experiment.

First she places a block of wood on a small plank; next, she slowly lifts one end of the plank upward.

She notes the angle at which the block just starts to slide, and claims that μs = tan θ. She is correct. Show why.
