Determine tangential and normal stresses, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:

A rectangular block of material is subjected to stresses 65N/mm2 (tensile) in x- direction and 35 N/mm2 (tensile) in perpendicular direction. It is accompanied by shear stress of 25 N/mm2 in such a way that it moves to rotate the block clockwise. Using Mohr's circle method, calculate the tangential and normal stresses across the oblique plane inclined at an angle 450 with the plane carrying stress of 65N/mm2.
