Determine Energy Requirements for Athletes?

You are familiar with the fact that body needs' energy to maintain body temperature, to meet metabolic demands, maintain electrolyte balance and to support growth and physical activity. The major variations in the energy needs of different individuals of the same age, sex and body weight is mainly due to differences in the physical activity pattern. In sports nutrition, physical activity is even more important as there are wide variations in energy needs between different individuals. Exercise intensity and duration me the main factors that influence exercise energy expenditures.
