A detailed commentary on the chemical and mechanical design of at least one process unit operation. Process design of other units should also be completed along with pipe sizes (major lines) and sizing of pumps. Storage tank sizing and plant layout is also encouraged. The commentary should discuss the health and safety implications of the decisions made as the design evolves and evidence should be presented to show that sustainability and ethical issues have been considered during this part of the design.

Full details of the calculations carried out, the equations and units used and a reasoned argument for their use.
Mechanical engineering drawings to facilitate the construction of the given unit operation.

Specification summary sheets for each component of the unit operation.

A detailed P and I diagram for at least one process unit operation identifying all control loops. The control strategy should be explained in detail and each control loop should be examined on an individual basis. The health and safety issues arising from the control strategy adopted should be discussed.

You should include design summaries of the other unit operations of the process and specification sheets for individual components to demonstrate that you have an overall appreciation of the full plant and the work done by other team members.
