In the precedence chart to the right, times are in seconds. 1 Assume that the plant runs one 7.5 hour shift per day and the assembly line is designed with 5 stations (one worker per station) with one task per station. (Stations 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 respectively perform tasks 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.) (a) What is the capacity of this line (units per shift)?( b) How many such lines would you need if you wanted to produce 2000 units per day? (c) What would be the actual capacity for one day? (d) What would be the total number of workers? Using the same precedence diagram: Suppose you design a batch layout with 3 departments.
