Describe the concept of soil testing

Different grades of complex and mixed fertilizers are being marketed to suit the soil and crops of a region. The recommendations are made on the basis of soil testing. The soil test information is compiled soil -wise or area-wise in the form of  soil test summaries. This summary indicates the number of samples falling in the category of high, medium or low N, P or K content.
