Describe the advantages of Intranet to the organisation

The most obvious advantage is that everyone with access to a computer terminal connected to the Intranet can obtain the entire store of information that can be easily updated by the network administrator at regular intervals. It is essential to note that even a simple database like an organisation telephone directory gets outdated quickly, sometimes even before it is printed on paper whereas an on-line directory can be updated immediately whenever there is a change needed.
