Describe Multiplication and Division Equations?

Multiplication Equations :  To solve multiplication equations, divide both sides of the equation by the number being multiplied by x.
Example: Solve for x in the equation 2x = 6.
2x = 6
2x/2 = 6/2 Divide by 2 on both sides.
x = 3 Simplify.
2.3 =6 Check the answer.

Division Equations : To solve division equations, multiply both sides of the equation times the number by which x is divided.
Example: Solve for x in the equation x/2 = 6
x/2 = 6
x/2*2 = 6*2 Multiply both sides by 2.
x = 12 Simplify.
12/2=6 Check the answer.

When performing operations to an equation, whatever you do to one side, you must do to the other side. An equation means equal treatment for both sides of an equation.
