Q. Demonstrate the counselling process in the form of role play?
Role playing refers either to the unconscious changing of one's behavior to assume a social role or roles in life or to the conscious adoption and acting out of roles, both fictional and real world.
? In role playing, participants act out characters in a predefined "situation".
? Role playing allows people to take risk-free positions.
? Role playing encourages active participation.
? Role playing is also used to dramatize proposed changes.
Role playing has these components:
?a clearly defined and simple "situation" applicable to the problem or issue at hand;
? written descriptions of the "roles" (characters) for participants to play;
? goals to be accomplished during the session;
? a trained small-group with a leader/facilitator;
? sufficient time for each participant to speak;
? an overall time limit for the session; and at the end an evaluation is done with feedback.
