Q. Demerits of lectures?
in this method we can find only passive participants as it only provides for learning and not doing.
there is no feedback from the audience due to one way communication.
sometimes it becomes less effective since the management personnel or the trainers often lack the time of preparation.
normally a listener can pay attention only for 15-20 minutes and later gets distracted.
whenever a listener is uninformed it becomes difficult to stimulate a discussion following a lecture.
the listeners may get confused when an untrained lecturer lacks information or provides more information than required.
common listeners may not understand an extremely professionals presentation and therefore it must be prepared in such a way that it is easily understood.
sometimes the lecture may concentrate more on the facts and figures and ignore the actual application of the knowledge.
the same material may not be applicable to individuals at times while it may be applicable to a group.
