Demerits of Continuous or Flow Production

The production problem which may arise particularly in high volume flow is that the constant repetition of a short time cycle task may induce boredom and frustration and consequent low morale. In turn this may give rise to lateness absenteeism, poor quality and in extreme cases positive disruption of the flow line to break monotony.
