Particles of the medium implement simple harmonic motion about their mean position in a direction perpendicular to the direction of propagation of wave motion.
(i) It goes in the form of crests and troughs.
(ii)A crest is a section of the phase which is raised temporarily above the normal position of rest of the particles of the medium when a transverse wave passes by it.
(iii) A trough is a part of the phase which is depressed temporarily below the normal position of rest of the particles of the medium, when transverse wave passes by it.
(iv) Examples of transverse wave motion: Movement of string of a sitar or violin,
Define Wave Length Wave Length : The distance travel by a wave during the interval in which the particle of the medium done on vibration is called wavelength
When a body is heated, it expands in terms of area, length & temperature and volume rises. In a solid, molecules may only have thermal agitation. As temperature of a object enhance
Photons and gravity : It is observed that light is affected by gravity. We can recognize the gravitational behaviour of light from the fact that although a photon has zero rest mas
Q. As-per to Coulombs Law if two charged particles are repelled with a given force at a distance d by what multiple will the force decrease by if d is increased by 4 times? An
Illustrate the formation of stationary waves in stretched strings and thus deduce the laws of transverse waves in stretched string.
What does gravitational force depend on? Gravitational force depends on mass and distance. Therefore, the formula for calculating gravitational force among two objects with
Mica is an inorganic mineral. It is one of the best natural insulating materials available. In spite of the tremendous progress made in insulation technology this material and its
Static limit: The distance through a rotating black hole where no observer can probably remain at rest (w.r.t. the distant stars) due to inertial frame dragging; this region i
