Define the toxicity of vitamin k, Biology

Assignment Help:

Define the Toxicity of Vitamin K?

Vitamin K, does not produce any toxic effects in doses (10-20 mg) normally used for the treatment or subjects suffering from disorders of liver or intestines. Vitamin K analogues (menadione and water soluble forms of menadione), administered to premature infants produce toxicity attributed to increased breakdown of red blood cells (haemolytic anaemia), hyperbilirubinemia and inhibition of glucuronide formation.
