A. EYA is a transcriptional activator that having both a DNA binding domain and a transactivation domain thus it can bind to an enhancer and directly stimulate either RNA polymerase or the general transcription factor machinery.

B. EYA can activate transcription by interactions with RNA polymerase and the general transcription factor machinery but it does not bind directly to DNA therefore it must be recruited to enhancer elements by interactions with DNA binding proteins.
