Q. Define the skid fabrication?

Unless noted otherwise in this specification, skid fabrication shall be in accordance with GS-904-0510, GS-904-0511 and GS-904-0515.

Dimensional tolerances shall be within 6mm for overall skid dimensions. Other tolerances shall be as per specification GS-904-0509, GS-904-0510 and GS-904-0520.

Skid mounted assemblies, including piping, guards, ladders, platforms and railings, shall be erected prior to coating. If disassembly for shipment or field erection is required, Vendor shall supply and install all necessary clips and furnish all necessary connection materials (i.e., bolts, nuts, washers), plus an additional 10%. Loose pieces shall be tagged for location and secured to main skid.

Equipment and vessels weighing more than 135kg dry weight shall be mounted on pads at least 12.7 mm thick that are welded directly to the top of skid structural members. If supplied, floor plate shall be cut back and seal welded around pad penetration.

Skids shall have vertical jacking screws along outside of main longitudinal members at pile locations when more than two skids are to be installed adjacent to each other.

Elevated platform decks and walkways shall be open steel serrated bar grating and shall be bolted in place for easy removal and cleaning.

All piping, valves and equipment shall be supported and anchored to avoid undue stresses and vibrations during shipment, as well as during normal operation. Supports shall be seal welded.
