Assignment Help:

Define the Planning an Underwater Inspection?

Planning for underwater inspection is important because of

- Unknown factors which may be discovered during the diving

- The difficulty in verifying the thoroughness of the inspection

- The cost of conducting underwater inspection.

The above factors are most influential for first time underwater inspection, which set a benchmark for further inspections. The effectiveness of an underwater inspection depends on the agency’s ability to properly consider all factors:

- Method of underwater inspection

- Diving inspection intensity level

- Type of inspection

- Qualification of diver/inspecting team With these factors considered, one may opt for a lower level of inspection.

Depending on the conditions and type of damage found, a higher level of inspection may then be necessary to determine the actual bridge condition. It may also be possible that different levels may be required at various locations on the same bridge.
