Define the meaning of Vital signs

Vital signs are measures of different physiological statistics, often taken by health professionals, in order to assess the most basic body functions. Vital signs are an essential part of a case presentation. The act of taking vital signs normally entails recording Body temperature, Pulse rate (or heart rate) and Respiratory rate. Vital signs often vary by age. Vital signs are useful in detecting or monitoring medical problems. Vital signs can be measured in a hospital or clinic or health center setting, at home, at the site of a medical emergency, or elsewhere. Temperature Pulse and respiration readings are called as vital sign.
