Define the Drugs Effects on Excretion?

Use of certain drugs can influence the excretion of certain substances. For example, besides their intended increase in sodium excretion, diuretic drugs can also result in enhanced losses of other elements such as potassium calcium, magnesium and zinc. Tetracycline increases the urinary excretion of vitamin C. So far, we have covered the relationship or the interaction of drug with nutrients and the effect of food on drug absorption, metabolism, utilization and excretion. Let us now move on to the study of the effect of a drug on the other drug i.e. the drug and drug interaction.
